Having arrived in Delhi that morning, and only the remainder of the day to see a bit of the city, a half day tour seemed the best option. We... read more had an excellent guide - Gaurav Soni, with a lovely driver in an aircon car. Driving in India is an experience and having your own car/driver maximises the time and enables you to get about as quickly as possible. We took our own water from the hotel. Gaurav gave us a running commentary as we drove around Delhi and smoothed all entries to attractions. The guide and car were ready for us at the stated time and we had pick up/drop off from our hotel. After a brief chat we decided where we wanted to go within the allocated time. We visited Hamayun's tomb first - Gaurav was very knowledgeable and on a hot day kept the pace of walking around perfect. The tomb is well worth the visit and rivals the Taj Mahal in many ways. We then visited Gandi's Garden - Gandi Smriti - where he spent his last days and was assinated. Well worth the visit and very moving - very peaceful and quiet when we went - there is a Gandi museum at another location so it is easy to muddle the two. We also visited a stepping stone well (amazing) and squeezed in some shopping at a craft shop. Overall, a great way to see a snap shot of Delhi.

  Just did the half day tour of New Delhi with Asif and had an awesome and educated experience. Asif's personability, knowledge and ability to articulate the background and highlights... read more of each historical location were greatly appreciated and equally enjoyable. My personal favorite part of the tour was Mahatma Ghandi's home. I highly recommend this tour (and Asif) if you like history and/or want to see the significant sights of New Delhi but don't necessarily want to commit to a full day! If you do want a full day, ask for Asif...you won't be sorry!
